Secondary English

This programme’s objective is to help students be well-equipped with the essential skills for tackling the Secondary English papers 1 and 2 with confidence. Our weekly curated news/magazines articles/short stories ensures that students get sufficient exposure to a wide variety of texts. Students will be taught how to analyse texts closely and be introduced to the answering technique for each question type.

To prepare students for the challenges in paper 1 (Situational Writing & Composition), our programme provides scaffolded writing practices and a myriad of writing techniques and plot ideas (narrative)/examples (expository). A particular theme will be covered monthly and students will also learn a set of vocabulary specific to the theme. We strive to nurture critical and avid readers who are not just exam-smart but also worldly and articulate.
