Our Teaching Team
Mr Jin Qiao (JQ) has a teaching experience with young children (3-6) for over 5 years. His passion in teaching began since his polytechnic years, when he was still doing his Diploma in Early Childhood Studies. Upon graduation, he decided to join the early childhood industry as a preschool teacher, and had the opportunity to teach children with different learning needs. He obtained his Bachelor of Education in 2019 and is currently undergoing his Master’s Course in Early Childhood with NIE. He believes that interest and curiosity is the best teacher.
- Mr Zheng Jin Qiao
Kindergarten P1 English/Chinese/Math Preparatory
Ms. Belinda has been in the education industry for more than 40 years. She has a Master of Education degree specializing in Early Childhood Education, English and Creative thinking. She has also obtained a Master of Counselling degree, with a specialization in Play Therapy. She uses these skills when she teaches. She started her teaching career as a teacher of young children and then advanced to the training of teachers. She is able to teach English at all levels including phonics at the preschool level.

Kindergarten Reading Programme
Mdm Irene is an ex- MOE teacher and specialises in teaching English. As a Public Service Commission Merit Teaching Award recipient, she majored in double English at the National University of Singapore. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree, she trained at the NIE where she obtained her Post-Graduate Diploma in Education. Having taught at neighbourhood schools as well as at an independent school, she is able to cater to the different needs of students. After over 25 years in service as an MOE secondary school teacher, She believes in nurturing the young, enjoys imparting knowledge and instilling values to her students.

Dr Lawrence Tina specialises in teaching English, Creative Writing and Literature. She graduated with a PhD in English Literature from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and had pursued her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English Literature from Nanyang Technological University. She had worked as a teaching assistant at NUS where she taught and assessed introductory modules catered for undergraduates. She has also engaged in volunteer teaching for various projects run by Sinda to aid students with reading difficulties via intensive small group tuition. She is passionate about forging a creative and productive environment which enables one to establish and extend his/her voice through critical reading and writing.

Ms. Hwei Yeen is an MOE Chinese teacher who has been teaching in various primary schools and privately for several years. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors at SIT-UofG and is known as a nurturing educator who is also recognised as a highly organised individual. Parents acknowledges Ms. Hwei Yeen’s patience, care and dedication as a Chinese educator who goes the extra mile and meet students’ learning requirements. The external acknowledgement is aligned with her purpose to nurture the next generations of children and develop their passion for Chinese.

Mrs Leong specialises in teaching Primary and Secondary Chinese and has more than a decade of teaching experience. She graduated with a BSc honours and won the 1st and 2nd prize in Chinese Essay Writing Competition organised by Government Authority during secondary and pre-university. With her passion and experience, most of her students study under her tutelage from Primary through JC. Her students are from various schools; NYGS, RGS, SNGS, Catholic High, ACS, SCGS, Anderson, Fairfield, XinMin, Maris Stella, CJC, NJC, ACJC, Innova JC, SJI, etc. Their grades have improved tremendously under her guidance, some even topping their respective levels in Chinese.

Ms. Jessie is a graduate from University of London with a Bachelor Degree in Business. She started tutoring at the age of 16 and while pursuing her studies she did relief teaching in MOE primary schools and tuition centres. She continue her tutor career taking up various 1-1 tuition as a private tutor after she graduate. Specialised in teaching Mathematics and Chinese at Primary level, she has proven track records of helping student get distinction in Mathematics from previous F grade. Her math lessons are engaging and boost cognitive learning ability. With her experience and passion in working with children, she will be an inspiring teacher and help your child excel in the subjects they face challenges in.

Mr Gan is a passionate and experienced teacher with a demonstrated history of working in the primary and secondary education industry. His forte lies in coaching Primary and Secondary students Mathematics and Science. Along with his 20 years of teaching experience, he is skilled in Educational Technology, Instructional Design and Curriculum Development. He holds a diploma in Teaching, a Bachelor of Science degree (Electrical Engineering) and a Master’s Degree in System Engineering

Mr. Lim is a responsible ex-MOE Maths teacher with more than 20 years of experience teaching in top primary schools. He graduated from NUS and earned his Bachelor’s in Economics & Statistics and Master’s in Economics. He also holds a Diploma in Education from NTU NIE. He believes that Mathematics is fun and that every child can do well in Mathematics with hard work and proper guidance and nurturing. He has received many positive feedbacks from parents whose children have done well with his coaching. Throughout his teaching career, he has coached both local and international students.

Mr. Jaren is a local university undergraduate who is currently pursuing a degree in Human Resource Management. He has several years of experience in teaching primary and secondary school Mathematics as a private tutor. Prior to this, he also worked as a student care teacher where he tutored students while fostering meaningful interactions with them. He strongly believes in providing his students with a stable foundation in mathematical topics, and aims to enhance their problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Mrs Jagjit is a very passionate and caring teacher and has been teaching science and Chemistry to primary and secondary students. She holds a Master’s in Chemistry from National University of Singapore and a Certificate in Teaching and learning from Nanyang Polytechnic. She has several years of teaching and tutoring experience. She is also working as a relief teacher with MOE schools. Students find her lessons engaging and easy to understand. She believes in teaching students by arousing a curiosity to learn and find out how the knowledge of science effects our daily lives. She also believes in motivating the students so that they excel academically and pursue their passions in life.

Described as being a calm and patient tutor by students, Mr Yeo has more than three years of teaching experience in Primary and Secondary Mathematics and Science. He graduated with a Diploma in Accountancy from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and was the top-scorer in San Yu Adventist School in 2012. Through his teaching career, he has nurtured a “can-do” spirit in young kids and teenagers, and catered to the different learning styles of individuals in a nurturing and passionate way. Mr Yeo also employs a wide array of teaching techniques, which include mind maps, the isolation of key words, heuristics and the role-playing of teacher-like mindset to foster a deeper understanding in his students.

Ms Chan Yinh graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). She first stepped foot into the education sector through working as a private tutor, where she gained the trust of many parents who further recommended her to future clientele. At the tender age of 24, Ms Chan has already helped over 50 students achieve their desired grades for English. Her experience as a private tutor has further fuelled her passion to continue teaching English to students professionally with StarChamps Education Centre. Her personal wish is to inculcate critical thinking and analysis of the world into her students, so that they may view the world through different lenses.

Ms. Louise teaches Primary and Secondary English and her passion for English teaching began since her days as an undergraduate (Major in English Linguistics) at NUS. She has been coaching both local and International students privately and at tuition centres for the more than 10 years. Her familiarity of the latest MOE syllabus and years of coaching Primary and Secondary level students have allowed her to streamline her lessons in accordance to the needs of her students. As an educator, she believes that results are important but more significantly, students need to enjoy the process of learning.

Ms. Yue Ying graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Singapore. Since her undergraduate years, she has been a dedicated Mathematics tutor for upper secondary students of varying streams and calibre. Armed with more than 10 years of teaching experience, she understands that every individual is unique and tries to adapt to the learning styles of different students. She also used to volunteer as a mentor for youths during her free time, doubling up as a tutor for Mathematics and Sciences. She believes that motivation is intrinsic and constantly strives to push her students to the best of their abilities.

Dr Mano has more than 15 years of experience in the education and training and specialises in teaching Upper Secondary Physics, Chemistry, ‘A’ and ‘E’ Maths and lower Secondary Science and Maths. He graduated with First class Honours from the University of Liverpool, UK, and earned his Masters (Building Science) and Doctor of Philosophy (Building Science) from the National University of Singapore. He is passionate in nurturing students to be inquisitive and independent learners and makes concepts easy to understand.
